It's #EqualityTime for LGBTQ+ Americans
Did you know that half of all LGBTQ+ Americans live in the 29 states where there are still no comprehensive nondiscrimination protections?
The patchwork of laws across the country leaves LGBTQ+ people vulnerable to situations such as a lesbian couple being refused service at a restaurant, a car service declining to pick up a group of gay friends, a same-sex family being denied assistance by a lawyer or bank, or a transgender person getting kicked out of a government funded homeless shelter.
The need for these protections is clear — nearly two thirds of LGBTQ+ Americans report having experienced discrimination in their lifetime. That's why we need comprehensive nondiscrimination protections. They will provide federal protections for LGBTQ+ people in all areas of life.
We must tell lawmakers that now is the time to pass this legislation. Take action today by contacting your Senators by email or phone. It's so simple, just a few clicks will get it done. GET STARTED NOW

International Transgender Day Of Visibility
International Transgender Day of Visibility (ITDOV) is an annual awareness day celebrated on March 31st. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of transgender and gender nonconforming people while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.
Here are three things you can do to support the trans community on ITDOV and every day:
- Learn about trans history. Trans people of color were on the front lines of Stonewall, and a transgender woman exposed the U.S. government’s war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Trans history is full of interesting facts and events.
- Support trans-led organizations. Find organizations run by trans people to support in your community today.
- Know the differences between gender identity, gender expression, sex assigned at birth, sexuality, and emotional attraction. Learn more here.
