Twelve days have passed since Congress passed the stimulus package, and it's been a bumpy rollout so far. Now, leadership in both the Senate and the House plan to add new resources to the Paycheck Protection Loan Program (PPL) this week. They are assembling narrow legislation that focuses only on this one program. The vote in the Senate might take place tomorrow (by unanimous consent) with a vote in the House on Friday.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SENATORS TODAY AND URGE THEM TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING FOUR STEPS TO HELP FIX THE PAYCHECK PROTECTION LOAN PROGRAM:
- ALLOCATE at least $250 billion in additional funding for the PPL Program.
- SET ASIDE a significant amount of that new funding within the PPL Program specifically to help nonprofits.
- ALLOW larger nonprofits (those with more than 500 employees) to participate in the PPL Program.
- URGE Senators McConnell and Schumer to include these provisions in Thursday’s bill.
LGBTQ+ community centers across the country need this type of funding to keep the doors open to keep providing life-saving services.
