According to our partners at the Equality Federation, there are 240 anti-LGBTQ+ bills active in 37 states across the country so far in 2022, with about half of them targeting transgender people specifically.

The barrage of legislation includes bills that would restrict LGBTQ+ issues in school curriculums, permit religious exemptions to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people, and limit trans people’s ability to play sports, use bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity, and receive gender-affirming health care.
